John Terry répond aux affirmations selon lesquelles il a exhorté Chelsea à ne pas signer Aguero

    Terry & Aguero

L'athlétisme published a rather interesting article recently, which concerned now Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero and Chelsea.

In the article, The Athletic alleged that Chelsea tabled a bid of £30m for Aguero while he was still on Atletico Madrid’s books, but the offer was said to have been too low:

The January window came and went with no agreement. Chelsea made an offer of £30 million, but that was significantly below Atletico’s asking price.

The same report from The Athletic went on to claim that John Terry wasn’t a huge fan of the Argentine and passed on that opinion to the ‘powerbrokers’ at Chelsea:

The Athletic understands Terry wasn’t a huge fan of Aguero’s abilities and passed that opinion on to the powerbrokers at the club.

Indeed, after playing against him on both occasions in the Champions League, Terry wasn’t overly impressed by Aguero’s movement — despite his superb double in Spain.

Selon le Miroir, Terry has since taken to Instagram to deny the suggestions:

“Where do these get the stories from? If they bothered calling players agents it would solve an awful lot of nonsense!” Comme cité par le Miroir.

    Man City vs Chelsea

There is a good chance Aguero will face off against Chelsea once again this weekend.

City and Chelsea will go head-to-head in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

After losing to Liverpool in their last clash, you would think that this tie is a must-win for the Citizens.

Pep Guardiola’s men are already nine points adrift of table-topping Liverpool and should City fail to see off an in-form Chelsea, that gap could become 12 points.

Frank Lampard’s side head into the weekend’s action one point above Man City in 3rd place.
